What are your current packaging lead times?

AOur current packaging lead times are 10 days from receipt of last component.

Do you stock tooling parts for blister packing?

AWe have over 1,000 sets of tooling formats within the Wasdell portfolio. If your product doesn’t fit these tooling formats we can design and manufacture dedicated tooling thanks to our in-house facilites.

What are your lead times for production of dedicated tooling?

AOur lead times for dedicated tooling are 4-6 weeks for standard tooling and 6-8 weeks if feeders are required.

What is your minimum order?

 

AThis will depend on the service being provided, whether it is solid dose blister packing or pot filling, liquid filling or sachet filling. The price we quote will be specific to the type of packaging and volume per batch. We can pack as little as a single unit!

Can I visit the factory before I place my order?

AYes of course. Some customers will require a formal quality audit before placing a first order and we will be pleased to accommodate this. All customers are most welcome to visit our packaging facilities.

I understand there are special rules for visiting the packing facility?

AYes, due to the nature of our business all visitors to Wasdell must provide photographic identification on arrival at Reception and visitors to production areas must be properly gowned and not wear any jewellery or makeup.

How quickly can you turn around artwork?

AWe can normally turn around a pdf proof from customers’ artwork in a couple of days.

What is your artwork capability?

 

A Normally customers provide us with an artwork file and we first check that it is suitable for printing, we then complete the required reprographics to produce a print ready file to make it suitable for the relevant print process and packaging. The artwork team can however take your concepts, propose artwork and then convert this into print ready files.

What quality standards do you work to?

A The company is regularly inspected by the UK Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) and operates to strict standards of pharmaceutical Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP). We have UK MHRA MIA, IMP, MS, WDA(H), and VMD ManA licenses and UK Home Office Controlled Drugs License (2-5), see the website or brochure for more details. We are also accredited by the US FDA (food supplements), the BRC, MSC and Soil Association.

Do you employ Qualified Persons?

 

A Yes we employ QPs at both sites and can undertake the QP release of medicinal products and IMPs, however this is a significant responsibility and will therefore be chargeable.

What storage facilities do you offer?

A We have storage for more than 15,000 pallets and can store finished product according to customers’ instructions either at ambient temperature or in our temperature controlled, humidity monitored warehouse.

Do you charge for storage?

 

A We do not normally charge for the storage of bulk product and components before packaging, however we do charge for the storage of finished product.

Do you have the same facilities at both sites?

A Broadly yes. Both sites have similar solid dose packaging facilities and we will always agree with the customer on a product specific basis at which site we will pack their product.

Can you advise on packaging formats?

A Yes, we can advise on the most appropriate packaging format for any particular product.

I understand there are different grades of pvc for blisters, what is the difference?

A The different grades offer different levels of moisture barrier which affects the stability of the finished product. Our default grade of PVdC offers a high quality moisture barrier however we will be happy to advise.

Will you sign a confidentiality agreement?

AYes, all customers can be assured of our absolute confidentiality and we are happy to sign such an agreement before discussing any packaging project.
